HOTEL ARPOADOR

Set between the ocean, the city, and the unmistakable rhythm of Rio de Janeiro, Hotel Arpoador offers a way of experiencing the city through proximity — to the sea, to the light, to the movement of the streets, and to the quiet rituals that shape a day by the coast. For this project, my photography and video work focused on translating that feeling: the softness of mornings in Ipanema, the sound of waves arriving just steps away, the warmth of Brazilian hospitality, and the effortless elegance of a place deeply connected to its surroundings.

Rather than simply documenting the hotel, I set out to capture the atmosphere of staying there — the slow transition between rest and discovery, the intimacy of waking up by the beach, the textures of the neighborhood, and the sense of belonging that Rio can create when experienced with attention. The images were created to evoke the rhythm of days at Hotel Arpoador: sunlit, relaxed, and quietly vibrant, where the hotel becomes not only a place to stay, but a natural extension of the city itself — a doorway into the beauty, culture, and soul of Rio de Janeiro.
